The extremely fast-paced system with conical connectors is based on our avalanche probe design. This gives the Z-poles their strength and allows for quick deployment. You just take the handle and the first floor segment and pull the two parts apart. The stick engages and is fixed. Each conical connector ensures that the shaft segments engage correctly. As a result, they strengthen the connections when the stick is fixed. Flexible tubular sheaths between the segments protect the inner Kevlar® cord of the sticks while they are folded together.
