Petzl Sirocco – Ultra-Light Helmet for Climbing and Mountaineering
The Petzl Sirocco is designed for demanding climbing and mountaineering objectives where every gram matters. Depending on the size, the helmet weighs only 160 or 170 g. Its hybrid construction combines extremely low weight with a shape that provides extensive coverage around the head.
The reduced front profile keeps the helmet brim out of the wearer’s field of view. Multiple ventilation openings and integrated air channels improve airflow during long and physically demanding routes.
Lightweight Hybrid Construction
The lateral liner is made from expanded polypropylene foam, or EPP. On top, expanded polystyrene foam, or EPS, is injected beneath a thin polycarbonate crown.
This combination of materials keeps the helmet remarkably light while reinforcing the upper section.
TOP AND SIDE PROTECTION
The Sirocco is designed in accordance with Petzl’s TOP AND SIDE PROTECTION label. Its wraparound shape and lower rear section provide enhanced coverage against impacts to the sides, front and rear of the head.
The helmet is certified to CE EN 12492 and UIAA requirements.
Adjustment and Comfort
The headband and chinstrap webbing can be adjusted to achieve a secure fit. Its low-profile buckle has a locking cover designed to help prevent the chinstrap from loosening unintentionally.
Ventilation holes, interior foam and integrated channels in the liner improve air circulation. Two front clips and a rear elastic band allow a headlamp to be attached to the helmet.
Sizes
The Petzl Sirocco is available in two sizes:

S/M for a head circumference of 48–58 cm, weight 160 g

M/L for a head circumference of 53–61 cm, weight 170 g
Users with a head circumference between 53 and 58 cm should try both sizes to determine which provides the most secure and comfortable fit.
Important Ski Mountaineering Notice
The Petzl Sirocco does not meet the requirements of the EN 18100:2024 standard for ski mountaineering helmets. It must not be presented as a ski mountaineering helmet certified to this standard.
