Description

The EDELRID Ohm II is a ballast resistor which is attached to the first hook and the brake resistor is significantly increased so that it is now possible to safely secure a very heavy climber. We were able to test the Ohm in live operation several weeks and are very enthusiastic. Now a climber of the 80 kg can get easily belayed by his girlfriend who gets only 50 kilos on the scale. Many coaches and different climbers have tested the ohm, some of them also in the Toprope and the resonance was consistently positive. Please note that you are not too far from the wall when you are backing up. Edelrid recommends a maximum distance of 1.5 meters from the wall to ensure optimal operation of the fuse. This recommendation is also consistent with our experience. If the safe is too far away from the wall, the angle is not optimal to the first Hagen and the Ohm blocks too often independently.
