The La Sportiva Otaki is a precise and supportive performance climbing shoe for sport climbing, multi-pitch routes and demanding technical rock. Its medium asymmetry and moderate downturn combine a powerful position on small footholds with the support required for longer climbing routes.

Construction and Performance

The full-length 1.1 mm LaSpoFlex midsole supports the foot when standing on small edges. Combined with the P3® System, it helps preserve the shoe’s downturned profile over time. The 4 mm Vibram® XS Edge outsole provides shape stability and precise support on small footholds.

The patented S-Heel™ construction provides torsional stability around the heel and improves control during heel hooks. Two hook-and-loop straps allow fast and precise volume adjustment. Its slipper-like construction wraps the foot evenly and helps eliminate unwanted empty spaces.

Fit and Sizing

The PD75 last features medium asymmetry and a moderately downturned shape. La Sportiva does not classify the Otaki as a Wide Fit model. For maximum precision, it should fit closely without empty spaces.

Climbers using the Otaki on long multi-pitch routes and sustained rock climbs may prefer a less aggressive size than those choosing it for performance-focused sport climbing or bouldering.
