Rock Empire Strike 9.4 mm – Lightweight Single Rope for Sport Climbing
The Rock Empire Strike 9.4 mm is a lightweight dynamic single rope designed for sport and performance climbing. With a linear weight of 58 g/m, it combines a slim diameter with balanced technical specifications and comfortable handling.
The rope is available in lengths from 30 to 200 m, allowing it to be selected according to the intended climbing environment and route requirements.
SBS Sheath Construction
With the Simple Braiding System, or SBS, every strand is woven individually into the rope sheath. According to Rock Empire, this construction improves abrasion resistance while keeping the sheath soft and easy to handle.
These characteristics are noticeable when clipping, tying knots and handling the rope. Rock Empire specifies a sheath slippage value of 0 mm.
Technical Performance
The Strike has a diameter of 9.4 mm and weighs 58 g per meter. Its maximum impact force is 7 kN. Rock Empire specifies six standard falls, dynamic elongation of 37% and static elongation of 6.2%.
The rope is certified as a dynamic single rope according to EN 892 and is made in the EU.
Standard or Complete Shield?
This product is the standard version identified by the ZLE manufacturer references. It must not be confused with the Rock Empire Strike 9.4 Complete Shield.
The Complete Shield version uses different ZLI references and must be managed as a separate product. Product names, references, prices and specifications must not be mixed between the two versions.
Selecting the Correct Length
The Strike is available in lengths of 30, 50, 60, 80, 100 and 200 m. The required length depends on the climbing location, route or wall height and the necessary lowering distance.
Before use, climbers must also verify that their belay device is approved for ropes with a diameter of 9.4 mm.
Our Assessment
The Rock Empire Strike 9.4 mm is an attractive choice for climbers looking for a relatively light, soft and manageable single rope at a competitive price. Its SBS sheath construction and linear weight of 58 g/m are its main advantages.
For regularly wet or particularly dirty environments, the separately available Complete Shield version should be considered. For conventional sport climbing in normal conditions, the standard version provides a convincing balance of weight, handling and value.
