Pursuant to Art. 4 No. 1 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, i.e. the General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter referred to only as „GDPR“), „processing“ means any operation or set of operations which is performed on personal data, whether or not by automated means, such as collection, recording, organization, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or another form of provision, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure or destruction.
With the following Privacy Policy, we inform you in particular about the type, scope, purpose, duration and legal basis of the processing of personal data, insofar as we decide either alone or jointly with others on the purposes and means of the processing. In addition, we inform you below about the third-party components used by us for optimization purposes and to improve the quality of use, insofar as this results in third parties processing data under their own responsibility.
Our Privacy Policy is structured as follows:

Without prejudice to this, the user has a right to information about these recipients.
III. Information on data processing
Your data processed when using our website will be erased or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage no longer applies, provided that no statutory retention obligations prevent the erasure of the data and no different information is provided below for individual processing procedures.
Server data
For technical reasons, in particular to ensure a secure and stable website, data is transmitted to us or to our webspace provider by your internet browser. These so-called server log files include, among other things, the type and version of your internet browser, the operating system, the website from which you accessed our website (referrer URL), the website(s) of our website that you visit, the date and time of the respective access, and the IP address of the internet connection from which our website is used.
This data collected in this way is stored temporarily, but not together with other data from you.
This storage takes place on the legal basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the improvement, stability, functionality and security of our website.
The data will be erased after seven days at the latest, unless further retention is required for evidentiary purposes. Otherwise, the data is excluded from erasure in whole or in part until an incident has been finally clarified.
Cookies
-
a) Session cookies: We use so-called cookies on our website. Cookies are small text files or other storage technologies that are placed and stored on your end device by the internet browser you use. Through these cookies, certain information from you, such as your browser or location data or your IP address, is processed to an individual extent. This processing makes our website more user-friendly, effective and secure, as the processing enables, for example, the display of our website in different languages or the provision of a shopping cart function. The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR, insofar as these cookies process data for the initiation or performance of a contract. If the processing does not serve the initiation or performance of a contract, our legitimate interest lies in improving the functionality of our website. The legal basis is then Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. These session cookies are erased when you close your internet browser.
-
b) Third-party cookies: Where applicable, cookies from partner companies with whom we cooperate for the purposes of advertising, analysis or the functionality of our website are also used on our website. Please refer to the following information for details, in particular regarding the purposes and legal bases of the processing of such third-party cookies.
-
c) Option to remove: You can prevent or restrict the installation of cookies by making a setting in your internet browser. You can also delete cookies that have already been stored at any time. However, the steps and measures required for this depend on the specific internet browser you use. If you have any questions, please use the help function or documentation of your internet browser or contact its manufacturer or support. In the case of so-called Flash cookies, however, processing cannot be prevented via the browser settings. Instead, you must change the settings of your Flash player in this respect. The steps and measures required for this also depend on the specific Flash player you use. If you have any questions, please also use the help function or documentation of your Flash player or contact the manufacturer or user support. However, if you prevent or restrict the installation of cookies, this may mean that not all functions of our website can be used in full.
JTL Consent Manager
On our website, we use the JTL Consent Manager to manage, control and legally compliant document the consents given by users for cookies and comparable technologies.
The technical integration of this service ensures that scripts, cookies and third-party components requiring consent (in particular analysis and media services such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Maps, YouTube and Vimeo) remain fully blocked by default. Data is transmitted to these third-party providers only and exclusively after the user has given explicit, active consent.
The Consent Manager stores the privacy settings you have selected, the time of your consent or refusal and, where applicable, further technical information required to prove that consent has been given. Processing takes place to fulfil our legal obligations pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c) GDPR and on the basis of our legitimate interest in legally compliant documentation pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR.
Customer account / registration function
If you create a customer account with us via our website, we will collect and store the data you enter during registration (for example your name, address or e-mail address) exclusively for pre-contractual services, for the performance of the contract or for the purpose of customer care (for example to provide you with an overview of your previous orders with us or to be able to offer you the so-called wish list function). At the same time, we then store the IP address and the date and time of your registration. This data will of course not be passed on to third parties.
As part of the further registration process, your consent to this processing is obtained and reference is made to this Privacy Policy. The data collected by us in this process is used exclusively to provide the customer account.
If you consent to this processing, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR is the legal basis for the processing.
If the opening of the customer account also serves pre-contractual measures or the performance of a contract, the legal basis for this processing is also Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR.
You may revoke the consent granted to us for the opening and maintenance of the customer account at any time with effect for the future pursuant to Art. 7 para. 3 GDPR. To do so, you only need to inform us of your revocation.
The data collected in this respect will be erased as soon as processing is no longer required. In doing so, however, we must observe tax and commercial law retention periods.

For the processing of payments, we use PayPal Checkout, a service of PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22–24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg.
As part of payment processing, the personal data required to carry out the payment is transmitted to PayPal. This may include, in particular, name, billing address, delivery address, e-mail address, telephone number, order information, IP address and payment information. Various payment methods such as PayPal, credit card or purchase on account can be processed via PayPal Checkout. For payment methods such as purchase on account or instalment payment, PayPal reserves the right, in order to safeguard its own legitimate interest, to obtain credit information on the basis of mathematical-statistical procedures from credit agencies.
Processing takes place on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR.

For the purpose of contract performance pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR, we pass on your data (name, delivery address and, where applicable, your e-mail address and/or telephone number) to the transport companies commissioned by us, insofar as this is necessary for the delivery of the ordered goods and for the purposes of parcel notification or shipment tracking.
We work with the following service providers for this purpose:

Insofar as we transmit your e-mail address or telephone number to the respective service provider for parcel notification, this takes place exclusively on the basis of your express consent in the ordering process pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR. This consent may be revoked at any time with effect for the future.
Newsletter
If you register for our free newsletter, the data requested from you for this purpose, i.e. your e-mail address and - optionally - your name and address, will be transmitted to us. At the same time, we store the IP address of the internet connection from which you access our website, as well as the date and time of your registration. As part of the further registration process, we will obtain your consent to the sending of the newsletter, specifically describe the content and refer to this Privacy Policy. We use the data collected in this process exclusively for sending the newsletter – it is therefore not passed on to third parties in particular.
The legal basis for this is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR.
You may revoke your consent to the sending of the newsletter at any time with effect for the future pursuant to Art. 7 para. 3 GDPR. To do so, you only need to inform us of your revocation or use the unsubscribe link contained in each newsletter.
The newsletter is sent exclusively after your express consent. If no active newsletter dispatch is currently taking place, the data collected will be stored exclusively for the administration of your newsletter registration.
Contact enquiries / contact option
If you contact us by contact form or e-mail, the data you provide will be used to process your enquiry. Providing the data is necessary for processing and answering your enquiry - without providing it, we cannot answer your enquiry or can only answer it to a limited extent.
The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR. Your data will be erased if your enquiry has been conclusively answered and no statutory retention obligations prevent erasure, for example in the case of any subsequent contract processing.
User contributions, comments and reviews
We offer you the opportunity to publish questions, answers, opinions or reviews, hereinafter referred to only as „contributions“, on our webpages. If you make use of this offer, we process and publish your contribution, the date and time of submission and the pseudonym you may have used.
The legal basis for this is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR. You may revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future pursuant to Art. 7 para. 3 GDPR. To do so, you only need to inform us of your revocation.
In addition, we also process your IP and e-mail address. The IP address is processed because we have a legitimate interest in initiating or supporting further steps if your contribution infringes the rights of third parties and/or is otherwise unlawful. In this case, the legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in any necessary legal defence.
